[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 28th that it has donated approximately 110 million KRW for recovery funds for the large-scale wildfires in the Gyeongbuk and Gangwon East Coast areas and 100 million KRW for relief funds for Ukrainian refugees through the Incheon Community Chest of Korea and the Korean Red Cross, respectively.
At the "Gyeongbuk and Gangwon Wildfire Damage Recovery Fund Donation Ceremony" held that day, six people including Kim Kyung-wook, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, executives and employees, and Lee Jung-yoon, Secretary General of the Incheon Community Chest of Korea, attended. They took time to deliver approximately 110 million KRW in donations to the Incheon Community Chest of Korea. The 100 million KRW relief fund for Ukrainian refugees will be separately delivered to the Korean Red Cross.
The corporation’s donations will be used to support relief activities and damage recovery for disaster victims in the wildfire-affected areas of Gyeongbuk and Gangwon and for Ukrainian refugees suffering from the pain of war. Through this, the corporation hopes to contribute to the early recovery of wildfire-affected areas and provide practical assistance such as medical support and delivery of relief supplies to Ukrainian refugees in need.

In particular, part of the wildfire damage donation amount was raised through voluntary contributions from the corporation’s executives and employees, adding more significance. Kim Kyung-wook, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, “We hope that domestic and international neighbors suffering from sudden disasters will recover their daily lives as soon as possible, and we donate the funds with the hearts of all executives and employees,” and added, “Going forward, the corporation plans to faithfully fulfill its social responsibility as a public institution through humanitarian support for vulnerable groups in disaster situations.”
