Songpa-gu Appoints 85 New Members to District Cultural, Arts, and Sports Organizations

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) appointed 85 new members of the district-run cultural, arts, and sports organizations on the 23rd at the district office to revitalize cultural, arts, and sports activities in the local community and expand the cultural base.
The district is making efforts to revitalize the cultural arts and sports sectors, which have been stagnant due to COVID-19, by planning various contents such as the Seokchon Lake Atelier 'Relay Concert' and the 2021 Year-end Music Concert, providing performance stages for district-run organizations.
Currently, Songpa-gu has a total of about 420 members active in ▲7 cultural and arts organizations (Silver Orchestra, Silver Choir, Choir, Boys and Girls Choir, Symphony Orchestra, Youth Symphony Orchestra, Folk Arts Group) and ▲5 sports organizations (Women's Football Team, Rhythmic Gymnastics Team, Taekwondo Demonstration Team, Rowing Team, Youth Football Team).
Every year, the district selects talented members through regular recruitment of new members, supporting residents of all ages and genders to enjoy various cultural arts and sports. This year, a total of 85 new members were selected through practical and interview evaluations in 8 cultural, arts, and sports organizations.
The selected members will perform on major stages such as Lotte Concert Hall and the Community Center at least once a year and participate in representative cultural and sports events of the district, including the Hansung Baekje Cultural Festival.
They also participate in weekly regular practices and cultural and arts exchange events between local governments or internationally, and receive activity expenses.
The district plans to support district-run cultural, arts, and sports organizations to actively continue their activities even under COVID-19 conditions by promoting small-scale practices and on/offline content production.
