View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] On the 26th, a fire broke out in an apartment in Jeonnong-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, resulting in the death of one resident.
The fire occurred at around 12:34 PM on the 7th floor of a 25-story apartment building. The deceased resident was a woman in her 40s who lived in the apartment unit where the fire started on the 7th floor and was reported to have died at the scene. Additionally, 12 residents were rescued, and about 60 evacuated on their own. Among the rescued, four were taken to the hospital after inhaling smoke.
The fire department deployed 72 personnel and 20 pieces of equipment, completing initial extinguishing about 1 hour and 14 minutes after the fire started, at around 1:48 PM, and fully extinguished the fire at approximately 2:28 PM.

The police are investigating the cause of the fire through a joint inspection with the fire department and plan to determine the cause of death of the deceased resident through an autopsy.
