Gyeongbuk Council is 'Studying Hard' on Public Official Election Act... Holds Legislative Academy Ahead of Simultaneous Local Elections
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] The Gyeongbuk Provincial Council held a 'Public Official Election Act' themed council member academy on the 24th for council members and council secretariat staff to foster a proper public election culture ahead of the local elections.
The special lecture, held prior to the 329th extraordinary session, was organized to enhance understanding of the Public Official Election Act and to promote a fair election atmosphere in preparation for the local elections.
On the day, Kim Yong-cheol, the guidance officer of the Gyeongbuk Election Commission, introduced the major amendments to the Public Official Election Act, permissible election campaigns during normal times, requests related to the 2022 local elections, and overall legal provisions and cases related to the Public Official Election Act. This was followed by a Q&A session exchanging opinions on election-related activities.
The Gyeongbuk Council has been creating a study-oriented council atmosphere by establishing an annual 'Council Member Education and Training Implementation Plan' to develop the professional knowledge and skills necessary for legislative activities.
