Wando Police Conduct Joint On-Site Inspection of Chronic Traffic Problem Areas
Joint Diagnostic Team Analyzes Causes and Issues of Traffic Accidents to Create a Safer Jeonnam
[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] The Wando Police Station in Jeonnam conducted on-site inspections on the 24th targeting areas where traffic problems frequently occur.
The inspection areas included the Jangbogo Mart intersection in Wando-eup, Donam-ri in Gogeum, and in front of the Arts Center?locations where fatal traffic accidents have occurred, places with frequent accidents, and three habitual congestion sections.
The regional joint diagnostic team, composed of the Wando, Haenam, and Jindo Police Stations, Wando County Office, and the Korea Road Traffic Authority, focused on points where fatal accidents occurred and analyzed the causes and issues through on-site cross-inspections.
Additionally, by listening to expert opinions, they discussed various measures to reinforce traffic safety facilities in the region and decided to prioritize improvements to traffic safety infrastructure.
Jeong Won-gyun, Chief of Wando Police Station, emphasized, “We will collect and reflect the opinions of the joint diagnostic team to inspect areas with frequent traffic accidents and habitual congestion sections in the region, improve the problems, and strive to make Jeonnam the safest area.”
Meanwhile, this inspection was conducted with the purpose of preventive police activities and revitalizing community policing, which are key initiatives of the Jeonnam Police.
