His term is for two years, until December 31, 2023.
The Korean Society of Criminology is the only academic organization in Korea specializing in criminology research.
The society was founded in 2005 with the goal of researching criminology topics such as the causes and prevention of crime and juvenile delinquency, and providing advisory services on applied fields like the criminal justice system and public security policies.
Every year, it holds joint academic conferences with the National Police Agency, the National Intelligence Service, and the Korea Institute of Criminology, and publishes the journal "Korean Criminology," which is indexed by the National Research Foundation of Korea.
