Native App Market One Store Surpasses 1 Trillion Won in Transactions Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The native app market One Store surpassed 1 trillion won in transaction volume for the first time last year.
One Store announced on the 25th that its transaction volume reached 1.1319 trillion won last year, a 28% increase compared to the previous year (884.5 billion won). This marks the highest performance for 14 consecutive quarters.
One Store analyzed that since implementing its commission reduction policy in 2018, the transaction volume has more than doubled in three years. Last year's sales reached 214.2 billion won, up 38% from 155.2 billion won the year before, entering the 200 billion won range for the first time in six years since its founding. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) was 8 billion won, marking three consecutive years of profitability. Sales in the core gaming sector increased by 31.3% compared to the previous year. Positive results were achieved with titles such as Devsisters' "Cookie Run: Kingdom," Nexon's "Blue Archive," and Kuga Games' "Samgukji Jeonlyakpan." Non-gaming sales increased by 55.7%.
According to Mobile Index, a big data platform company IGAWorks' estimate of transaction volumes of the three app markets, One Store recorded about 13.8% market share among domestic app markets last year, maintaining its second place behind Google Play Store.
