Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Council Opens 271st Extraordinary Session... Deliberates Supplementary Budget Proposal and More
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangsan District Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City (Chairman Lee Young-hoon) announced on the 25th that it will hold the 271st extraordinary session from the 28th of this month to the 1st of next month.
This extraordinary session plans to review a total of 23 agenda items, including the 1st supplementary budget proposal for 2022, the appointment of the 2021 fiscal year settlement inspection committee members, 16 ordinances including 7 proposed by council members, and 5 general matters.
The main schedule includes listening to the proposal explanation on the 1st supplementary budget for 2022 from the district mayor at the 1st plenary session on the 28th.
From the 28th to the 29th, the standing committees will review ordinances and general matters, conduct a preliminary review of the 1st supplementary budget for 2022, and the Steering Committee will review the appointment of the 2021 fiscal year settlement inspection committee members.
The Special Budget and Settlement Committee (Chair Lee Gwi-soon) will continue reviewing the supplementary budget proposal, which has undergone preliminary review by the standing committees, from the 30th to the 31st.
The supplementary budget proposal submitted by Gwangsan District is 900.6 billion KRW, a 6.46% increase from the existing amount of 846 billion KRW (general and special accounts), with an increase of 54.6 billion KRW in the general account.
Finally, on April 1st, the 2nd plenary session will be held to handle the appointment of the 2021 fiscal year settlement inspection committee members and the submitted agenda items, concluding the legislative schedule.
Chairman Lee Young-hoon said, “I hope the supplementary budget proposal can serve as a catalyst for improving the business conditions of small business owners who have not yet recovered to pre-COVID-19 levels and for the recovery of the local economy,” and added, “Please thoroughly analyze the projects to ensure the review provides practical help to the residents.”
