Gyeonggi Office of Education Announces 22 Test Sites for Next Month's Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exams
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced on the 25th the 22 test sites for the '2022 1st Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exam' to be held on the 9th of next month.
The test sites include 12 schools located in southern Suwon, 6 schools in northern Uijeongbu, 3 institutions with their own test sites, and 1 separate test site, totaling 22 locations.
This exam has 7,533 applicants: 871 for elementary level, 1,573 for middle school level, and 5,089 for high school level, which is an increase of 200 and 233 compared to 7,333 and 7,300 applicants in the 1st and 2nd exams last year, respectively.
Applicants can check their designated test sites on the Gyeonggi Office of Education website (www.goe.go.kr).
Applicants must wear masks and enter their assigned exam rooms by 8:20 a.m. on the exam day after reviewing the precautions.
Also, applicants must bring their ID and admission ticket and prepare a computer-use sign pen or similar writing instrument.
If the admission ticket is lost, applicants must bring their ID and one photo previously attached to the application form and report to the test site headquarters by 8:20 a.m. on the exam day to receive a reissued ticket.
Acceptable IDs include not only resident registration cards but also youth IDs, disability registration cards containing resident registration numbers, and driver's licenses.
COVID-19 confirmed patients and those in self-quarantine can take the exam at separate test sites. These separate test sites will be individually notified to the applicants.
The list of successful candidates will be announced on May 10th through the Gyeonggi Office of Education website.

Kim Gye-nam, Director of Lifelong Education at the Gyeonggi Office of Education, said, "We will thoroughly disinfect all test sites to ensure that applicants can take the exam safely," and urged, "Applicants must wear masks and actively cooperate with the exam supervisors' instructions for the smooth administration of the equivalency exam."
