‘Jirisan Healing No.1 Spot’ Shows Signs of Huge Success
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Daebongsan Recreation Valley, known for having the longest monorail and zipline in Korea, saw its highest number of visitors in a single day on the 20th since its full reopening, with many riding the monorail to the summit of Daebongsan to enjoy the snowy scenery.
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced that despite the lingering cold, many tourists are visiting Daebongsan, especially after the beautiful snowy landscape of Daebongsan was extensively covered by the media last week.
As of March 20, Daebongsan Recreation Valley has attracted over 23,000 cumulative visitors this year, showing signs of a major hit. Visitor numbers are expected to peak around April to May, when the azaleas of Daebongsan are in full bloom.
A county official said, “Daebongsan offers breathtaking scenery throughout all four seasons, including snowy landscapes, spring azaleas, summer greenery, and autumn foliage,” adding, “Based on last year’s successful operation experience, we plan to provide even more diverse healing services this year.”
