Food Industry Also Supports Wildfire Damage Area Recovery... Continuous Warm Hands of Help
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] As warm-hearted support continues from all walks of life toward the wildfire-affected areas, the food industry is also joining the relief efforts one after another.
According to the industry on the 19th, Binggrae recently donated goods worth about 300 million KRW, including 5,000 bags of 10kg rice and Binggrae products, to the Korean Red Cross to support wildfire victims in Gyeongbuk and Gangwon and disaster relief activities. A Binggrae official said, "We hope this will help the victims suffering from the wildfire and the volunteers working hard on recovery," adding, "We will continue to strive to support neighbors in need."
Seoul Milk Cooperative also donated 100 million KRW to the Korean Red Cross and contributed 48,000 milk and beverage products for victims and wildfire suppression personnel. Samyang Foods joined the relief efforts by delivering about 20,000 ramen and snacks. SPC Happy Foundation also delivered a total of 6,000 items, including 3,000 SPC Samlip breads and 3,000 bottles of water, to Yeongdeok County Office through the Korean Red Cross.
Lotte Confectionery also donated about 78,000 packs of Custard and about 24,000 high-protein bars to the Korean Red Cross Gangwon and Gyeongbuk branches. Lotte Chilsung Beverage delivered about 22,000 bottles of 'Icis 8.0' and about 12,000 bottles of 'Gatorade' to the same locations. Paldo delivered a total of 67,000 items, including Yonggimyeon Wang Ttukgeong, Birak Sikhye, and Malgeun Saem water, to the Gyeongbuk branch.
Earlier, OB Beer supported wildfire victims in Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gachang, Daegu, by delivering 400 Lee Energy bars and 5,000 bottles of disaster relief water through the social contribution network Happy Alliance and the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, respectively. Dongseo Foods donated 200 million KRW to the National Disaster Relief Association, and Daesang also donated 180 million KRW, including relief supplies worth about 30 million KRW, to the same organization.
