The hospital has been conducting a health monitoring project targeting elderly single-person households and local welfare centers as part of a national demonstration project since last year, and this agreement includes matters related to the establishment of the 'Kosin Cardi Telemetry Center (tentative name)'.
Kosin University Hospital and Meju signed a business agreement in April last year, collecting medical information from patients using Meju's devices and advancing the AI-based non-face-to-face medical system under development at the hospital through joint research and technology exchange.
Through this, the hospital plans to conduct clinical studies on patient movement, fall prevention, automatic checking of solitary deaths, acute myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, etc. This agreement is significant in commercializing the joint research and technology exchange conducted over the past year through the demonstration project.
In the future, the hospital plans to manage cardiac patients from primary and secondary hospitals through the Cardi Telemetry Center, accumulate digital data, and work to prevent sudden death and other conditions.
The digital healthcare startup 'Meju' is the developer of the electrocardiogram remote monitoring platform 'HiCardi,' which enables real-time monitoring of multiple patients' electrocardiograms, heart rates, body surface temperature, respiration, etc., using wearable patches and smartphones.
'Dong-A ST' has been seeking synergy with Meju in prescription drugs, medical devices, and diagnostic businesses.
Through this business agreement, Dong-A ST will apply 'HiCardi' to visiting patients, establish a cooperative medical system with primary and secondary hospitals in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions, and play a role in expanding the service.
The hospital is expanding projects such as the Robot Surgery Center, VR Rehabilitation Center, and Overseas Remote Early Diagnosis Center to enter the Busan Eco Delta City Smart Healthcare Cluster, and is actively expanding cooperation and demonstration projects with companies possessing excellent domestic and international technologies.
Meju's 'HiCardi Plus' received certification from the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in February. It can be used continuously for 72 hours and has improved dustproof and waterproof performance (IP67), allowing it to be worn while showering.
The 72-hour patch-type continuous cardiac monitor provides ECG data statistics, automatic arrhythmia classification, and easy data labeling functions to generate analysis reports within an average of 15 minutes based on 72-hour Holter data in Holter mode.
In monitoring mode, it can continuously monitor and record ECG, respiration, etc., in real time, and has a real-time arrhythmia detection function to identify rapidly changing patient conditions.
