A 'Complex Cultural Center' to Be Established in Industrial Complexes of Mokpo and Hwasun, Jeonnam

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] A complex cultural center will be established in the industrial complexes of Mokpo and Hwasun, Jeonnam.
Jeonnam Province announced on the 18th that the Mokpo Sapjin General Industrial Complex and Hwasun Dongmyeon Agricultural and Industrial Complex were selected for the Ministry of Industry's 'Industrial Complex Complex Cultural Center Construction Project' aimed at enhancing the culture, welfare, and convenience of industrial complex workers.
Accordingly, a total of 7.8 billion KRW, including 5.4 billion KRW in national funds and 2.4 billion KRW in local funds, will be invested to complete the center by 2024.
The Industrial Complex Complex Cultural Center is a building that integrates cultural, welfare, and convenience functions for workers in one place.
This project helps revitalize industrial complexes by improving the insufficient welfare environment for industrial complex workers, and is a project that cities and counties are interested in and actively promoting.
The center will include facilities such as a work uniform laundry service, restaurant, convenience store, sports center, exhibition and sales hall for industrial complex products, financial institutions, and meeting rooms and lounges for networking activities, all for the workers.
A Jeonnam Province official said, "Improving the welfare environment for workers is a key issue linked to the influx of young population, so we plan to expand complex cultural centers for worker welfare," adding, "We are also actively promoting projects such as creating beautiful streets and supporting transportation costs for young workers in small and medium-sized enterprises in industrial complexes to improve residential conditions for industrial complex workers."
In Jeonnam, three and two industrial complexes were selected in the competitions held in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

In 2020, Yeongam Daebul Industrial Complex, Yeonggwang Daema Electric Vehicle Industrial Complex, and Damyang Eco High-Tech Industrial Complex, and in 2021, Yeosu Yeosu Industrial Complex and Naju Dongsu-Oryang Agricultural and Industrial Complex were confirmed and are promoting the construction of centers, so the welfare environment for industrial complex workers is expected to improve.
