Assemblyman Yongbin Lee Initiates Discovery of Gwangju-Exclusive Differentiated Artificial Intelligence Platform
AI Industry-Academia-Research Association, Gwangju Jeonnam Design Association, Webtoon Association, and Others Sign Agreement
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Industry, academia, and research institutes related to artificial intelligence have joined hands to discover a differentiated AI digital content platform unique to Gwangju and to inject new vitality into the AI industry.
Lee Yong-bin, Member of the National Assembly (Gwangju Gwangsan Gap, National Assembly Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Communications Committee), announced on the 18th that he signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the AI Industry-Academia-Research Association, the Gwangju Jeonnam Design Federation, and the Webtoon Association for the "Development of Gwangju as an Intelligent Digital Content Hub City and the Creation of a Virtuous Ecosystem."
To discover new industries and create an ecosystem through the convergence of different industries' technologies, the associations exchanged information and infrastructure they possess, and promoted the joint discovery of new digital content industries based on blockchain technology that integrates AI, design, and webtoon technologies, as well as the establishment of a collaborative platform for technology development (R&BD) linked to commercialization.
Companies with core AI technologies and platform technologies, as well as companies possessing design and webtoon content technologies, plan to cooperate with regional innovation institutions.
Through this, by discovering a new AI digital content platform through technological convergence, they plan to foster new industries that will breathe new vitality into Gwangju.
The three associations participating in this MOU will utilize the R&BD collaborative platform that integrates AI and blockchain-based digital content technologies to promote corporate support and demonstration cooperation projects such as convergence new industry technology education, consulting, and technical advice through the formation of consultative bodies between association member companies (61 AI association companies, 135 Gwangju Jeonnam Design Association companies, 450 Webtoon Association companies) and regional innovation institutions.
Assemblyman Lee said, "I hope to discover a differentiated AI virtual convergence new industry unique to Gwangju through the discovery of new digital content industries based on blockchain technology integrating AI, design, and webtoon technologies and the establishment of a collaborative platform," adding, "Please be a great force in helping Gwangju grow into a global digital content hub city."
