Support for 'Busan-type Health Management Set', Age Limit Removed...Significant Expansion for Vulnerable Groups Aged 12 and Over
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City will expand the support target for the 'Busan-type Health Management Set' to vulnerable groups aged 12 and over starting from the 18th.
On the 11th, the city provided the Busan-type Health Management Set to those aged 60 to 64, who were excluded from the support target due to the government's raised criteria for distributing home treatment kits.
Amid a nationwide shortage of the government's home treatment kits for intensive care groups, some intensive care group patients did not receive kits during their treatment period, prompting the urgent provision of the Busan-type Health Management Set.
From the 18th, the city will remove the upper age limit and expand the support criteria so that any vulnerable person aged 12 or older can apply for the Busan-type Health Management Set.
The revised support criteria for the Busan-type Health Management Set allow anyone aged 12 or older who belongs to vulnerable groups such as ▲single-person households ▲registered disabled persons ▲basic livelihood security recipients ▲near-poverty class to apply through the Busan City COVID-19 website.
Confirmed patients receive an internet address to access the application page via a confirmation guidance text message.
To prevent duplicate payments to intensive care groups, those who have applied for and received the Busan-type Health Management Set will not be provided with the government's intensive care group home treatment kits distributed by public health centers.
The Busan-type Health Management Set includes antipyretics, comprehensive cold medicine, a thermometer, and a self-diagnosis kit, but does not provide an oxygen saturation meter.
Park Hyung-jun, Mayor of Busan, said, "As confirmed cases rapidly increase due to the spread of Omicron, various difficulties are arising in managing home treatment patients," adding, "We will carefully examine blind spots occurring on the ground to provide seamless care to citizens."
