'World Book Day' Seoul Library, Encountering World Literature Classics Lecture
Spring Day Online World Literature Outing with Author Lee Hyun-woo 'Rojja'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Library announced on the 18th that it will hold a non-face-to-face lecture series titled "Meeting the Classics of World Literature," which explores the era, culture, and people of the time through world literary works, in celebration of World Book Day and Library Week. The lectures will be held four times from April 5 to May 3.
The lecture series features author Lee Hyun-woo, who wrote "Not Dying from Falling into Literature," discussing the social, cultural, economic, and political thoughts and values of the modern era transitioning from the medieval to the modern and from the modern to the contemporary, through works by great writers representing modernity. In this lecture, in commemoration of World Book Day, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the nation, global citizenship, and furthermore, the language of the globalization era and world literature as a whole.
Oh Ji-eun, director of Seoul Library, said, “To spread library culture in daily life, we will continue to discover and operate more diverse humanities programs on various topics that Seoul citizens can access.”
