Korea Airports Corporation-LCC Airlines Hold Meeting... "Discussion on Resuming International Flights"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 17th that it held a meeting at its headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, inviting CEOs of seven domestic low-cost carriers (LCCs) to discuss the early recovery and normalization of international flight operations.
About 20 officials, including Korea Airports Corporation President Yoon Hyung-jung and CEOs and executives from Jin Air, Air Busan, Air Seoul, Jeju Air, T'way Air, Aero K, and Fly Gangwon, attended the meeting. They shared information on the resumption of international routes following the government's easing of special entry procedures and discussed measures for the prompt resumption of international flights and recovery of air travel demand.
At the meeting, the LCC CEOs emphasized the need to lift the unified entry procedures at Incheon Airport and exempt overseas arrivals from PCR testing to simplify quarantine processes. Various opinions were exchanged on expanding incentives such as fee reductions to alleviate initial costs for airlines and joint promotions to normalize international flights.
