Supporting Activities at 'Seoul Itda Food Bank Center' Connecting People and Hearts
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 18th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Itda Food Bank Center announced that they are recruiting the 4th class of the "Seoul Itda Food Bank Center Publicity Supporters," who will generate public empathy for food and daily necessities support targeting socially vulnerable groups in Seoul.
The Seoul Itda Food Bank Center is a welfare service organization that connects food donors with socially vulnerable groups. Since 1998, right after the IMF financial crisis, it has been receiving donations of food and daily necessities from individuals and companies and delivering them to vulnerable groups within the local community, thereby serving as a social safety net for marginalized groups.
The 4th class of publicity supporters will be divided into a reporting team, a campaign team, and SNS supporters, and will be active until December this year. They will promote the Seoul Itda Food Bank project through activities such as reporting and article writing, producing videos and card news, and conducting campaigns.
The reporting and campaign teams are open to university students currently enrolled (including on leave) at universities located in the Seoul metropolitan area, while SNS supporters can be any Seoul citizen with a personal SNS account. Supporters will receive benefits such as volunteer activity hours, commendations from the President of the Seoul Metropolitan Social Welfare Council, and opportunities for publicity skill enhancement training.
The recruitment period is from the 18th to April 1st, and applications can be submitted by sending the application form to the person in charge via email. The application form can be downloaded and detailed information can be found on the Seoul Itda Food Bank Center website.

Gu Jong-won, Director of Welfare Planning at Seoul City, said, "So far, the Seoul Itda Food Bank publicity supporters have contributed to raising awareness of the food bank project for vulnerable groups and promoting a culture of food sharing." He added, "We hope that the active activities of the 4th class supporters being recruited this time will lead to a larger scale of food and daily necessities sharing that connects citizens who have not yet participated in food sharing and the 37 food banks throughout Seoul."
