Kakao Pay Raises Annual Salary by 10 Million KRW for All Employees... "Stock Options Also Under Review"
Adding Welfare Points Increases to About 13.6 Million Won Per Person
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Kakao Pay has decided to increase the annual salary of all its employees by 10 million KRW this year. Differential stock option allocation is also under consideration.
According to industry sources on the 17th, Kakao Pay revealed the policy to uniformly raise the salaries of all employees subject to salary adjustment this year by 10 million KRW during the internal communication event 'Can Meeting' held the day before. In addition to providing individual performance bonuses, differential stock option allocation is also being reviewed.
Last month, the company already announced welfare reform plans including a 300,000 KRW increase in welfare points and meal allowances, as well as loan interest support. Accordingly, when including the salary increase and welfare support amounts, Kakao Pay employees will see a total wage increase of approximately 13.6 million KRW per person.
The Kakao Group appears to be raising employee wages one after another. Previously, Kakao headquarters announced a raise of more than 5 million KRW each, and Kakao Bank announced a 10 million KRW increase per employee.
