S-Oil Creates Convenience Stores at Gas Stations to Support Vulnerable Groups
Opening of 'Haetsal Nanum Convenience Store' in Goyang, Gyeonggi
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] S-OIL opened the 'Sunshine Sharing Convenience Store' on the 17th at the Tongillo Ilpum Gas Station in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, in collaboration with the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, providing the operation rights free of charge to socially vulnerable groups.
Utilizing the idle space at the gas station, a convenience store was established with joint sponsorship from Emart24, offering operation rights and profits for five years to economically disadvantaged vulnerable groups such as single-parent families, migrant women, and burn victims. The selection of operators is managed by the Korea National Council on Social Welfare.
Since 2011, S-OIL has been conducting a gas station-linked community contribution program through a public interest campaign agreement called the Gas Station Sharing N Campaign with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare.
