CJ Olive Young announced on the 17th that it will operate a clean beauty pop-up store for ten days starting from the 18th at 'Yeonnam Bangatgan,' a complex cultural space in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. This is the first time Olive Young is conducting its own campaign outside of its stores.
The clean beauty pop-up store, created under the concept of 'Gentle power to protect me, the Earth, and animals, Dajeongryeok (力) House,' features Olive Young's eco-friendly efforts to coexist with the environment.
Reflecting the practical meaning of clean beauty, which considers the environment and ethics in cosmetic purchases, the pop-up store admission ticket is replaced with empty cosmetic containers. Visitors can enter by donating used plastic containers to the 'Beauty-Cycle' collection box on the first floor of the pop-up store. Beauty-Cycle is a customer participation cosmetic container collection campaign that Olive Young has been running since last year.
Visitors can also see an artwork exhibition by artist 275C, who upcycled containers collected through last year's campaign. Besides customers bringing containers, Olive Young membership members can also enter.
In addition, various experiential elements such as spaces to meet representative clean beauty brands, media art exhibitions, photo zones, and games have been prepared. Seven brands are participating in this pop-up store: Gudal, Round Lab, Round Around, Anua, The Lab by Blanc Doux, Toriden, and Abib.
Olive Young selected Yeonnam-dong as the location for the clean beauty pop-up store targeting the MZ generation, who value conscientious consumption. Yeonnam-dong is a neighborhood that has risen in prominence with the creation of the Gyeongui Line Forest Trail and attracts a large young population, drawing attention from the fashion and beauty industries.
Olive Young, which established its own standard called 'Olive Young Clean Beauty' for the first time in the industry in 2020, has consistently introduced brands and products considering ingredients, environment, and ethical consumption through its clean beauty campaign. In fact, Olive Young Clean Beauty selected products saw sales increase by about 40% within a year of their launch last year, growing into a large category with annual sales exceeding 100 billion won in 2021.
The clean beauty pop-up store will operate until the 27th and will provide all visitors with a 6,000 won discount coupon usable at stores nationwide. Customers who participate in the survey will receive a cosmetic recycling kit as a goodie, and membership members will be given special gifts on a first-come, first-served basis.
