Woori Financial Group Signs 'Business Agreement for Circular Economy Activities' with World Wide Fund for Nature

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] On the 16th, Woori Financial Group signed a "Memorandum of Understanding to Prevent Plastic Pollution and Transition to a Circular Economy Society" with the World Wide Fund for Nature Korea (WWF).
According to the agreement, Woori Financial Group will ▲promote plastic reduction and recycling with elementary school children nationwide ▲hold stakeholder conferences to practice a circular economy and strengthen ESG management (environment, social, governance) ▲conduct activities to build internal and external consensus and raise awareness about the importance of nature restoration and the circular economy. Through the operation of a plastic recycling program, plastic containers from daily necessities that would otherwise be incinerated or landfilled will be directly collected and recycled. The recycled plastic containers will be donated as garden pots to elementary schools to create classroom forests free of fine dust.
The signing ceremony took place at Woori Financial Group headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul. Son Tae-seung, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, and Hong Yoon-hee, Secretary General of WWF, attended.
