[Photo] Concentrated Operation of Cremation Facilities to Meet Increasing Cremation Demand
On the 16th, as the number of deaths continues to record the highest ever amid the surge of COVID-19 cases, the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced that it will operate 60 cremation facilities nationwide intensively until mid-April. Through this, the average daily operation per existing cremation furnace, which was 3.3 times (1,044 cases), will be increased to at least 5 times, and up to 7 times in the metropolitan area and large cities, enabling the cremation of approximately 1,580 people per day.
