Gwangyang Central Library Introduces AI Book Recommendation System 'Flybook AI'
Using Big Data to Recommend Books Tailored to User Interests and Preferences
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Jeonnam Gwangyang Central Library announced that it has introduced the AI book recommendation system ‘Flybook AI’ to provide citizens with personalized book recommendation services based on big data.
‘Flybook AI,’ installed in the lobby on the first floor of the main building of the Central Library, is a book recommendation kiosk (touchscreen) where AI recommends books using big data according to the user’s mood, preferences, and interests.
When users enter information such as gender, age, current mood, and interests on the installed kiosk, the AI recommends customized books based on the entered information, and detailed information about the recommended books and library holdings can be received via text message by entering a mobile phone number.
Kim Mira, Director of Library Operations, said, “Through the Flybook AI service provided by the library, we hope that citizens will receive book recommendations that suit their tastes at any time and engage in reading activities, thereby expanding their personal reading horizons. We look forward to many people using the service.”
