[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City will hold the opening ceremony of ‘Cinema House Busan in Arpina’ on the 17th at Busan Arpina located in Haeundae-gu.
About 40 film industry officials are expected to attend the opening ceremony, including Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Chairman Park Ki-yong of the Korea Film Council, President Kim Yong-hak of Busan Urban Corporation, Chairman Kim In-su of the Busan Film Commission, and Executive Chairman Heo Moon-young of the Busan International Film Festival.
‘Cinema House Busan in Arpina’ is a dedicated accommodation for filmmakers, designed for production companies and filming teams from the Seoul metropolitan area visiting Busan for movie shoots.
The city and Busan Urban Corporation designated the entire 5th floor of the Arpina building as an exclusive area for filmmakers, newly creating 25 rooms and production offices.
Filmmakers visiting Busan who stay at Cinema House will receive a support of 30,000 KRW per room per night.
Filmmakers can also use the specialized facility ‘Production Office’ for free, where they can hold meetings and carry out work while staying at the accommodation.
The city provides ‘Cinema House’ to filmmakers visiting Busan for location shoots, while the remaining rooms in Arpina are open to tourists and citizens.
The city expects to further strengthen the urban brand of ‘Film City Busan’ and for Busan to become a hub for film tourism.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “We will continue to provide unwavering support so that Cinema House becomes a representative film tourism resource befitting the urban brand of ‘Film City Busan.’”
