[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The latest heating and cooling system construction has been completed at the indoor gymnasium of Jangyu Sports Center in Gimhae, Gyeongnam.
The gymnasium had an issue with decreased energy efficiency due to the aging heating and cooling equipment used since its completion in March 2004.
Gimhae City installed 12 indoor units on the ceiling of the second-floor track and 6 outdoor units in the east, west, south, and north directions.
The city explained that the partial operation system was designed with individual power lines to reduce electricity consumption and carbon emissions and to allow immediate response in case of air conditioner failure.

A construction official said, "Creating a comfortable exercise environment will help citizens' health and well-being," and added, "We will also install shading screens on the spectator seats at the Jelmi Multipurpose Stadium to ensure comfortable use."
