Efforts to Promote Cooperation and Digital Transformation Between Metaverse Companies and the Trade Industry

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] The Korea International Trade Association announced on the 16th that it has signed a "Memorandum of Understanding for the Activation of the Metaverse Industry and Promotion of Digital Transformation" with the Korea Metaverse Industry Association.
At the signing ceremony held the previous day, both organizations agreed to jointly promote activities such as discovering outstanding metaverse technology companies, fostering professional talent, and supporting the digital transformation of industries through the expanded adoption of the metaverse.
A Digital Transformation (DX) Tech Trend Seminar and a Metaverse Education Briefing were also held. At the seminar, held simultaneously online and offline, Shin Seung-kwan, Executive Director of the Trade Association, stated, "The metaverse is a new technology that can realize imaginable business models and be applied to various industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and industrial safety," adding, "We will actively support cooperation between related technology companies and the trade industry together with the Metaverse Industry Association."
In the keynote speech, Lee Geon-bok, Executive Director at Microsoft, said, "While consumer-oriented metaverses focus on gaming and communication, industrial metaverses allow monitoring and control of various devices and sensors in virtual spaces, with synchronization of information."
Kang Jong-ho, Executive Director at Bespin Global, who presented cases of cloud-based artificial intelligence service implementation, emphasized, "Cloud technology, combined with artificial intelligence, blockchain, and big data, will be applied to various industrial sites, enabling business innovation through free connectivity and real-time feedback," and stressed, "All corporate processes must be viewed from a software perspective."

Meanwhile, about 150 representatives from companies interested in digital transformation, including LS Mtron, LG Uplus, CJ CGV, and CJ CheilJedang, attended the event, and over 500 people watched the seminar via live broadcast on YouTube online.
