Targeting Grade 5 Emission Diesel Vehicles and Three Types of Road Construction Machinery
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is promoting an early retirement support project for old diesel vehicles.
Goryeong-gun will accept applications for the vehicle scrappage support project from the 17th to the 31st to reduce greenhouse gases by lowering automobile emissions.
Eligible applicants are diesel vehicles rated grade 5 for emissions and three types of road-use construction machinery manufactured before 2005. Applications are accepted if the vehicle has been registered in Goryeong-gun for more than six months as of the application deadline.
The basic subsidy for passenger cars under 3.5 tons gross weight has been reduced from 70% to 50%. Additional subsidies for purchasing new vehicles excluding diesel cars and for purchasing used vehicles with emissions grades 1 or 2 have been increased from 30% to 50%. Also, when purchasing new electric or hydrogen vehicles, an additional 500,000 KRW will be provided within the upper limit.
For passenger vans and cargo vehicles under 3.5 tons gross weight, vehicles over 3.5 tons, and three types of road-use construction machinery, the support rate remains the same as last year, with support amounts up to 3 million KRW depending on vehicle type and age.
