[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Yeongcheon City, Gyeongbuk, has been finally selected for the '2022 Vulnerable Area Living Conditions Improvement Project' organized by the National Balanced Development Committee, securing 2.2 billion KRW in national funding.
The Vulnerable Area Living Conditions Improvement Project is a program that supports the expansion of living infrastructure, culture, and welfare to improve basic living standards and enhance residents' quality of life in underdeveloped urban areas.
The project target area is a steep slope village between Gyochon Village Hyanggyo and the Chung-hon Tower in Seobudong, which is isolated compared to surrounding areas and continues to experience polarization.
The city will invest a total of 3.3 billion KRW over four years from this year until 2025 to carry out detailed projects such as slate roof renovation, old house maintenance, steep slope maintenance, creation of village communication spaces, and strengthening residents' capabilities to revitalize the community.
