Gwangju Buk-gu and Chonnam National University Join Forces to Foster Talent for the K-Digital Platform

Support for Industry-Specific Talent Training for Youth, Unemployed, and Company Employees
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 14th that it has been selected for the K-Digital Platform project hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
This project aims to cultivate talent in the digital and new technology industries and support local residents in experiencing digital medical care and healthcare.
Accordingly, Buk-gu signed a business agreement with Chonnam National University and will invest 1 billion KRW this year, with a total budget of 3 billion KRW by 2026.
They will establish spaces for education and resident experiences and focus on nurturing core talents for the digital platform.
In particular, customized training courses tailored to the industry will be operated for youth, unemployed individuals, and employees of related companies, covering bio 3D printing, metaverse virtual medical care, digital therapeutics, and AI healthcare.
Director Moon said, “We will do our best to enhance the understanding and capabilities of the local community, including residents and companies, regarding the digital industry together with Chonnam National University.”
Meanwhile, Buk-gu and Chonnam National University are jointly promoting projects such as the university town-type urban regeneration New Deal project, campus innovation park development, and regionally tailored job creation projects, contributing to job creation and revitalization of the local economy.
