Jangseong-gun Accelerates Key Projects Including Senior Citizens' Center Construction

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, is accelerating the progress of major ongoing projects that are being actively promoted to enhance the happiness of residents, secure future food sources, and strengthen urban competitiveness.

The county recently announced on the 11th that it conducted a review and analysis of 58 target projects for this year, focusing on major county administration issues.

The review and analysis is an evaluation that analyzes planned projects and proposes solutions to problems to guide the achievement of goals.

Among these, the county plans to complete a total of 26 projects within this year.

In particular, four projects ? ▲Construction of the Senior Citizens' Hall ▲Establishment of the Gwangju Area Jangseong Local Food Direct Market ▲Installation of the Mugunghwa Park Observatory ▲Creation of the Residents' Healing Seongsan Park ? will be completed within the first half of the year.

The Senior Citizens' Hall is a two-story building equipped with a physical therapy room and a fitness room, expected to continue the reputation of ‘Jangseong, the No.1 Silver Welfare Area’ by providing innovative senior welfare services.

The Gwangju Area Jangseong Local Food Direct Market guarantees farmers' basic income through effective market development.

Jangseong Mugunghwa Park, created in collaboration with Doosan Group, boasts the largest scale among Mugunghwa parks established through local government-corporate cooperation in Korea.

An observatory will be installed by June to develop it into a popular destination visited throughout all four seasons.

The Residents' Healing Seongsan Park features a ‘walkable promenade’ designed with consideration for residents with mobility difficulties such as the elderly and disabled, and it will be completed by June, reflecting local residents' opinions as much as possible.

In the second half of this year, 22 projects including ▲Establishment of Jangseong Hi-Pass IC ▲Construction of Bukim-myeon Administrative Welfare Center ▲Construction of Yellow Art Center ▲Creation of Flower Tunnel ▲Promotion of the K-New Deal’s 10 representative projects ‘Digital Twin Land’ ▲Bus system establishment will be completed.

Additionally, major mid- to long-term projects such as ▲Construction of Multipurpose Welfare Hall Family Center ▲Opening of Cheongun Underpass ▲Development of Multonggol Waterfall Tourist Site ▲Creation of Hwangryonggang Provincial Garden ▲Creation of Hwangmir Land Theme Park ▲Maintenance of Odongso Stream ▲Basic Plan Service for 2030 Tourism Resource Development are being vigorously promoted with the goal of completion by 2023.

Projects promoted through close consultation with related organizations, such as ▲Establishment of National Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Center ▲Establishment of National Subtropical Crop Demonstration Center ▲LH Public Rental Housing Project ▲Creation of Deokseong Happy Village in Nam-myeon ▲Development Project of Advanced 3 District in Research and Development Special Zone, will be accelerated and visualized through thorough prior procedures, continuous monitoring, and active response to various issues.

A county official said, “As the 7th elected administration comes to an end, we will do our best to conduct meticulous inspections and systematic management according to project schedules so that every resident can feel the results.”
