Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 10th that it conducted a final inspection of the Namgang Water Leports Center construction and cruise ship operation project, promoted as the Wonteopool Namgang Project.
On that day, Mayor Cho and the officials carefully checked the launching of the completed cruise ship on the Namgang River, as well as safety inspections and preparations for pre-operation.
The Namgang cruise ship named "Kim Si-min Ho" was made in the form of a traditional pavilion boat to capture the meaning of boating on the Namgang River in Jinju. It was built with an aluminum hull according to eco-friendly shipbuilding laws. The cruise ship will begin full-scale operation in April, cruising around Mangyeong Riverside Park and Jinju Fortress area.
The circular course starts from Mangjin Naru under Somang Jinsan, passes through the dock under Chokseokmun, and returns. During the 30-minute cruise on the Namgang River, passengers will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Jinju Fortress as seen from the river.
The maximum capacity of "Kim Si-min Ho" is 20 people including the captain. It will operate on weekdays except Mondays through on-site reservations. The city also plans night operations until 10 p.m. to allow passengers to enjoy the night view around Chokseokru Pavilion.
Before the full-scale operation in April, "Kim Si-min Ho" completed new safety inspections including restoration performance tests. On that afternoon, it was launched on the Namgang River for final operational safety checks, undergoing on-site test runs and inspections.
