Gwangju Nam-gu Council Adopts Resolution Condemning Russia's Military Invasion
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 11th, the Nam-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City adopted the “Resolution Condemning Russia's Armed Invasion of Ukraine and Urging Efforts for International Peace Settlement,” which was introduced by Representative Jo Gi-ju, at the 1st plenary session of the 284th extraordinary meeting.
The condemnation resolution defined Russia's invasion of Ukraine as a clear illegal act of aggression violating international law and stated, “Russia is urged to immediately and completely withdraw all troops from Ukrainian territory.”
It also adopted a resolution demanding, “The Government of the Republic of Korea, as an influential member of the international community, actively participate in the international community's efforts to peacefully resolve the Ukraine situation.”
