DB Insurance Obtains 3-Month Exclusive Use Rights for 'DB Plus Protection Health Insurance'
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] DB Insurance announced on the 11th that it has obtained a 3-month exclusive usage right for the hemiplegia diagnosis benefit coverage included in the ‘DB Plus Protection Health Insurance’ launched on the 3rd of last month.
Hemiplegia is a condition characterized by muscle weakness on one side of the upper or lower limbs or the face, and it is also an early symptom of stroke. The number of hemiplegia patients increased by about 14%, from 125,000 in 2016 to 140,000 in 2020.
DB Insurance explained that through the development of the hemiplegia diagnosis benefit, it aimed to raise awareness of early stroke symptoms and to help prevent the worsening of stroke severity.
In addition to the hemiplegia diagnosis benefit, which received the exclusive usage right, the ‘DB Plus Protection Health Insurance’ differentiates coverage according to life cycle stages, allowing appropriate protection for each age group.
For young adults (in their 20s and 30s), the plan includes coverage for diagnosis of 41 new diseases, including hemiplegia diagnosis benefit, while for middle-aged adults (in their 40s and 50s), it adds coverage for 'Da Vinci robot cancer surgery expenses' and 'home nursing treatment expenses.'
For major coverage areas such as cancer, heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, and chemotherapy expenses, the plan includes an 'incremental coverage' that doubles the coverage amount for those aged 60 to 70.
