[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Matsuno Hirokazu, Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary, said regarding South Korea's 20th presidential election, "We have not changed our intention to demand appropriate responses from the South Korean side based on Japan's consistent position to restore Japan-South Korea relations to a sound relationship," local media including NHK reported on the 9th.
According to the report, Matsuno made this remark during a regular press conference in response to questions about the Japanese government's stance toward South Korea's new administration amid deteriorating Japan-South Korea relations.
