Seoul City Posts 'PEACE FOR UKRAINE' Message on Dream Board Wishing for Peace in Ukraine
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 8th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government conveyed a message of consolation and hope for peace to the people of Ukraine suffering from war through the large front billboard ‘Seoul Dream Writing Board’ at Seoul Library.
Seoul expressed the entire Dream Writing Board using the colors of the Ukrainian flag, depicting a blue sky and vast yellow wheat fields. This symbolizes the hope that peace will come to Ukrainian land as swiftly as the unobstructed wheat fields spread out. In the center, the phrase “PEACE FOR UKRAINE” was displayed, wishing for peace to settle on Ukrainian soil as soon as possible. Alongside the dove, a symbol of peace, the message “SEOUL STANDS WITH UKRAINE” was added to the upper right corner to show Seoul’s solidarity with Ukraine.
This Dream Writing Board was implemented as a special project separate from the seasonal edition that posts citizen-submitted phrases, following the ‘Peace Light’ campaign which displayed the colors of the Ukrainian flag on major landmarks including the Seoul City Hall main building.
Seoul posted the image of this Dream Writing Board on its official website, the “Naesonane Seoul” app, and official SNS accounts, adding the hashtag #PEACE FOR UKRAINE to express wishes for peace in Ukraine, encouraging many citizens to join in spreading the message of peace.
