Korea International Cooperation Agency Selected as Top Group in 'Public Data Provision' Evaluation
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Korea International Cooperation Agency announced on the 7th that it was selected as the top group (97.31 points) in the '2021 Public Data Provision Operation Status Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The International Cooperation Agency explained that it was evaluated as leading partnerships between countries by opening development cooperation (ODA) data to developing countries.
Public data refers to data that is opened and provided so that anyone can use it freely and for free.
Based on the total score divided into quintiles, it corresponds to the top group and has been selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years.
The agency currently opens a total of 57 types of data through the Public Data Portal, including ODA information, project information, personnel and management information, and field information.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it participates in the national key data project and also provides ODA project site and overseas safety convergence information.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluates the operation status of public data provision institutions annually for 548 institutions, including central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions, to induce the activation of the national data economy.

Subsequently, it evaluates and announces the results in five areas: public data management system, opening, utilization, quality, and others, rating them as 'excellent', 'average', or 'insufficient'.
