Chosun University Hospital Selected for 'Regional Specialized Foreign Patient Attraction Capacity Enhancement Project' Competition
Establishing Smart Digital Healthcare Leading Models Including ICT-Based Non-Face-to-Face Remote Medical Services
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Hospital (Hospital Director Kim Kyungjong) announced on the 7th that it has been selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's '2022 Regional Specialized Foreign Patient Attraction Base Reinforcement Project' task competition.
This project was applied for jointly by Chosun University Hospital and Gwangju Metropolitan City, and was selected as the 3rd place among 13 local governments nationwide.
As a result, Chosun University Hospital secured a total project budget of 800 million KRW for two years starting this year.
Chosun University Hospital aims to establish a new model as a leading smart digital healthcare provider through key projects such as building an ICT-based non-face-to-face remote medical service in the medical tourism sector and developing a metaverse platform, in collaboration with Gwangju City.
It is expected to revitalize the attraction of overseas patients and invigorate the local economy through medical tourism services tailored to the era where non-face-to-face exchanges have become commonplace due to COVID-19.
Choi Jiyoon, Director of External Cooperation, said, "We plan to attempt a new transformation of the medical tourism business for the post-COVID-19 era through developing a mixed treatment model (face-to-face and non-face-to-face), strengthening the foundation and competitiveness for attracting foreign patients, developing specialized medical technologies and expanding the global network, online-based hybrid promotional marketing, and reinforcing local foreigner communities."
