'Reading Nowadays While Doing Other Things with a Book Open'... Millie's Library Launches Live Broadcast
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The reading platform Millie’s Library is launching a live broadcast called ‘Millie Live,’ which facilitates communication through books, and will present its first broadcast on the 7th. The platform aims to expand the scope of reading and create new reading trends through live broadcasts, a format familiar to the 2030 generation.
‘Millie Live,’ debuting on the 7th, is a live broadcast content designed to allow access to books through real-time broadcasts based on various themes. Creators conduct one-person live broadcasts within their respective channels on the Millie’s Library app according to different themes, enabling immediate communication through real-time chat. Unlike existing book-related content that directly discusses specific books, Millie Live features everyday topics such as romance or counseling on worries through live broadcasts, naturally leading to interest in books rather than putting books front and center. Under the slogan “These days’ reading while doing other things with a book open,” it reflects the content consumption patterns of the 2030 generation and plans to provide an opportunity for those unfamiliar with reading to easily start reading while watching live broadcasts.
Millie Live will open its doors at 9 PM on the 7th with ‘Giseungjeontaro’ hosted by creator Chloe. It offers a refreshing tarot explanation and meditation time with a tarot master who exercises, allowing both body and mind to be trained simultaneously. At 11 PM, actor Seo Woo’s book reading ASMR ‘Whisper’ will follow as the first broadcast. It is characterized by being usable as an online sleeping aid by listening to books read in a calm voice during late-night hours. Both ‘Giseungjeontaro’ and ‘Whisper’ will be broadcast daily at the same time from Monday to Friday.
On the 14th, to celebrate White Day, a channel themed on romance counseling called ‘Daehwanjang Romance’ will open. Popular YouTuber Hyesun will appear in person to provide realistic advice to those who have learned about romance through books. It will be broadcast every Monday and Wednesday at 10 PM. Millie’s Library plans to expand its channels by recruiting creators fitting various concepts in addition to the three channels opening this month.
Do Young-min, Head of Marketing at Millie’s Library, said, “Millie’s Library is leading the popularization of reading by establishing itself as a platform where users can spend valuable time with diverse content beyond simply viewing e-books. Through Millie Live, creators and members communicate in real time and build intimacy, allowing people who felt vague burdens about books to naturally approach them, which is expected to ultimately contribute to spreading the trend of reading among the 2030 generation.”
