Bodyfriend Selected as 'Most Respected Company in Korea' for 4 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Bodyfriend recently announced on the 7th that it was selected as the number one company in the healthcare sector for four consecutive years in the '2022 Most Admired Companies in Korea' survey conducted by the Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC).
Now in its 19th year, the '2022 Most Admired Companies in Korea' survey comprehensively evaluates six core values including corporate innovation capability, customer value, and social value, based on trust and support within industries. Approximately 12,000 participants including industry workers, analysts, and general consumers take part to select the most admired company by industry.
Bodyfriend maintained its top position by receiving consistently high scores across six evaluation areas. In particular, it was highly praised for becoming the global number one in the massage chair market within a short period of 10 years since its founding, and for contributing to enhancing national prestige by recently being selected as a world-class product and production company.
Additionally, under the vision of 'extending healthy lifespan by 10 years,' Bodyfriend established a Medical R&D Center composed of specialists in various fields. The center analyzes the correlation between massage chairs and health, developing massage programs such as 'sleep massage' and 'mental massage.' Its innovative research and development capabilities, including acquiring the most intellectual property rights among healthcare companies, were key factors leading to the award.
In fact, Bodyfriend invested about 80 billion KRW in research and development over the past five years, with more than 20 billion KRW spent last year alone. Centered on three major research organizations (medical, technology, design), it collected biometric data and developed artificial intelligence (AI) software that predicts diseases using the collected data, achieving remarkable results. It also attracted significant attention by exhibiting products that measure body composition, electrocardiogram, and blood pressure at 'CES 2022,' the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition.
