According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Deputy Prime Minister Hong underwent a rapid COVID-19 test and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test in Sejong the previous afternoon and was notified of a positive COVID-19 result on the morning of the 6th.
Deputy Prime Minister Hong is currently isolating at his home in Sejong without any unusual symptoms and will maintain isolation for 7 days in accordance with quarantine guidelines.
The schedule for accompanying President Moon Jae-in to the wildfire site visit on this day was canceled, and all future schedules, including the Real Estate Inspection Ministers' Meeting, will be adjusted.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance stated, "Ongoing tasks will be carried out normally from home through non-face-to-face and telephone communication," and added, "Early voting was completed in advance."
