Through this MOU, the two institutions will design donation programs tailored to the donor's life plan and asset holdings, and provide specialized financial solutions aligned with asset planning and financial needs. In addition, they plan to collaborate to spread the culture of donation and activate 'legacy giving.' 'Legacy giving' refers to donating all or part of the assets left after death to public interest organizations or other third parties.
Hana Bank's 'Living Trust Center,' a specialized organization for trust-based asset management and inheritance planning, includes legal, tax, real estate experts, and professional financial consultants who design and recommend customized donation trust products such as testamentary substitute trusts. These can be designed according to the donor's desired timing and method. In the future, a dedicated trust product for Korea University will also be developed.
Korea University plans to encourage 'legacy giving' among alumni and potential donors through a customized program called 'planned giving,' which is designed based on an understanding and empathy for the donor's asset status and donation philosophy.
Park Sung-ho, CEO of Hana Bank, said, "We will continue to pursue sincere ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities to practice our group mission of 'growing together and sharing happiness through finance.'
