Min Hee-jin, Youn Yuh-jung, and Jung Ho-yeon Selected as 'Most Influential Women in the Global Entertainment Industry'
Including 'Squid Game' Actor Kim Ju-ryeong and Producer CEO Kim Ji-yeon
Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR, and actresses Youn Yuh-jung and Jung Ho-yeon were recognized as influential women in the global entertainment industry.
On the 2nd (local time), the American entertainment media outlet Variety selected and announced the "Women That Have Made an Impact in Global Entertainment." From Korea, the list included Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR, a new label under HYBE; actress Youn Yuh-jung from the film Minari; actresses Jung Ho-yeon and Kim Joo-ryung from the Netflix series Squid Game; producer Kim Ji-yeon, CEO of Siren Pictures; and Kim Min-young, Vice President (VP) of Netflix Asia Pacific Content (excluding India).
Min Hee-jin was introduced as an "innovator in K-pop branding and design." Variety explained, "She was the chief brand officer at HYBE, managing global stars BTS and the rising star group Tomorrow X Together," adding, "In November last year, she was appointed CEO of HYBE’s new indie label ADOR and will debut a new girl group this year."
Youn Yuh-jung gained worldwide attention after winning Best Supporting Actress awards at the American Academy Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards last year. Variety noted, "Although she has delivered outstanding performances for over 40 years, the U.S. only took notice in 2021 when she debuted in Hollywood with Minari," further stating, "Her portrayal of Soon-ja was an irresistibly charming character." They praised her by saying, "Loved in Korea, she proved what a new beginning means."
Jung Ho-yeon, Kim Joo-ryung, and CEO Kim Ji-yeon were referred to as "the women of Squid Game." Variety evaluated, "The tremendous success of Squid Game and its cast cannot be overstated." In particular, Jung Ho-yeon attracted significant attention with her 23 million Instagram followers, Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, and her background as a model-turned-actress.

Variety annually selects influential women in the global entertainment industry to commemorate International Women’s Day (March 8). Last year, the group BLACKPINK and Kim Eun-hee, writer of the Netflix series Kingdom, were selected, and Kim Min-young, the VP, was named for the second consecutive year following last year.
