The Suwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 3rd that they had urgently detained and were investigating a woman in her 40s, identified as A, on suspicion of murder.
A is suspected of killing her son, B, at their home in Jowon-dong, Jangan-gu, Suwon City, on the morning of the 2nd.
On the same day around 7 p.m., the police received a report from A’s older brother stating that he could not contact A, and they visited A’s residence.
At that time, A was found next to the deceased B, having attempted self-harm, but was reported to be in stable condition. A confessed at the scene, saying, "I killed my son."
During the police investigation, A stated, "I committed the crime because it was difficult to take care of my disabled son financially." It was reported that A and B had been living alone and struggling with financial difficulties.
