Jeonju City Transforms Palbok-dong Industrial Complex Hinterland into a 'Green Village'
Accelerating the Smart Green City Development Project with the Goal of Transitioning to Eco-Friendly Green Residential Areas
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 2nd that through this year's Smart Green City creation project, it plans to transform the Sinbok Village area in Palbok-dong, a factory-dense zone, into a green village equipped with climate change resilience and a pleasant environment.
The Smart Green City creation project, with a total budget of 15.4 billion KRW, is promoted as a Ministry of Environment public contest project to implement '2050 Carbon Neutrality.'
Jeonju City plans to establish an 'ICT Village Forest' and a 'Smart Green Energy Village' in the Sinbok Village area by the end of this year.
The 'ICT Village Forest' aims to block environmental pollutants such as scattered dust by building an automatic rainwater irrigation system and a rainwater garden (vegetation waterway) on the road section between the industrial complex and residential area.
Along with this, a water circulation clean path and green resting public parking lot will be created.
Additionally, to improve energy efficiency in the Sinbok Village area, Jeonju City will promote the installation of △smart shelters (smart bus stops) △green remodeling of public buildings (Palbok-dong Community Center) △replacement of smart streetlights to create a smart green energy village.
Meanwhile, Jeonju Mayor Kim Seung-su visited the project site in Palbok-dong Sinbok Village, which is being transformed into a green village, to check the project progress and future plans.
