Jeonbuk Namwon-si, Chunhyangaein Agricultural Products Drive-Thru Special Sale
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, will hold a discount sale of agricultural products under the joint brand Chunhyangaein, including strawberries, apples, onions, jujubes, and cherry tomatoes, using a drive-thru method in front of the Namwon Nonghyup Gojuk-dong Integrated Center Hanaro Mart from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for two days from March 5 to 6.
The sales event is organized by Namwon City, Namwon City Cooperative Joint Business Corporation, and five local Nonghyups to help farmers struggling with decreased agricultural product consumption due to COVID-19 and to allow citizens to purchase excellent agricultural products at affordable prices. Prices are 30-50% cheaper than market consumer prices.
Namwon Chunhyangaein agricultural products are produced at the foot of Jirisan Mountain and along the Seomjin River, where there is a large temperature difference between day and night and abundant sunlight. These products have been supplied to major domestic retail stores such as E-Mart, Homeplus, and Hanaro Mart, and exported to Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, proving the excellence of Namwon Chunhyangaein agricultural products.
Namwon City plans to sell agricultural products through large retail store supplies, home shopping sales, online and offline direct transactions, and exports again this year following last year, contributing to increasing farmers' income by promoting Chunhyangaein agricultural products and securing various sales channels.
A Namwon City official said, "This drive-thru event will be conducted as a meaningful event to ease citizens' frustrations caused by the spread of COVID-19 and strict social distancing measures and to overcome farmers' difficulties together."
