A Foreign Crew Member in Their 20s Missing Off Jeju Coast... Coast Guard Searching
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] A foreign crew member in his 20s went missing from a fishing vessel sailing in the southern waters of Jeju, and the coast guard is conducting a search.
According to Seogwipo Coast Guard on the 28th, at around 6:58 a.m., a report was received that crew member B (male, in his 20s, Indonesian) of fishing vessel A (89 tons, nearshore eel trap, Tongyeong registration, 11 crew members) went missing while sailing 5.4 km south of Pyoseon.
Upon receiving the report, Seogwipo Coast Guard ordered emergency dispatch of rescue forces including helicopters, patrol vessels, rescue teams, and police substations, and requested cooperation for rescue from related agencies and vessels near the accident area.
As of 8:30 a.m., one coast guard helicopter, one patrol vessel, two coastal rescue boats, one rescue team rescue boat, one navy vessel, and seven nearby fishing vessels are searching for the missing person.
