'Strengthening Publicness of Private Facilities' Expanded to 10 Incheon-Style Postpartum Care Centers
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The number of Incheon-type postpartum care centers, which enhance the public nature and service quality of private postpartum care centers, will increase to a total of 10.
Incheon City will accept applications from 27 postpartum care centers in the region until the 14th of next month, and through evaluations by a review committee, will select 5 Incheon-type postpartum care centers to operate starting in May.
With this, the Incheon-type postpartum care centers will expand to a total of 10, including the 5 designated last year.
The Incheon-type postpartum care center project is the first of its kind nationwide, initiated by Incheon City to strengthen the public nature of private postpartum care centers. Among private postpartum care centers, excellent centers are selected based on service quality evaluations including infection prevention, safety management, and care for mothers and newborns.
Selected postpartum care centers will receive support of up to 30 million KRW to be used for expanding infection prevention and safety management equipment.
The Incheon-type postpartum care centers provide various childcare education programs such as parent-child attachment formation education, and after the mother is discharged, offer home visit nursing services for postpartum depression prevention and breastfeeding education.
Last year, the user satisfaction rate for Incheon-type postpartum care centers reportedly exceeded 98% in all areas including newborn and mother care, according to the city.
