Gwangju Nam-gu 'Barun Siksaenghwal Children's Song and Video' Copyright Registration
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, has produced videos of five children's songs and corresponding dance routines to promote proper eating habits and personal hygiene among children, and has registered the copyrights with the Korea Copyright Commission.
The songs and videos have been uploaded to YouTube for the purpose of improving the development and eating habits of infants and toddlers nationwide, allowing anyone to use them for public purposes, not just children in Nam-gu.
On the 24th, Nam-gu announced, "Due to the uncertainty of face-to-face education on nutrition, hygiene, and safety at local daycare centers amid the spread of COVID-19, we have produced and publicly released five children's songs about proper eating habits and five corresponding dance videos to provide customized non-face-to-face education."
The proper eating habit songs and dance videos introduced this time were created through collaboration between Nam-gu Office and the Nam-gu Children's Meal Management Support Center, with both organizations dedicating efforts to producing the songs and videos since last year.
In particular, to deliver lyrics suitable for children's perspectives and to create dance routines that stimulate curiosity, the five songs including "Kong Kong Kong I Like Beans," "Good Good Safe Snacks," "Chika Puka Song," "I Am the Table Manners King," and "Ggeung-ga My Poop Is Pretty" were completed with advice from Professor Kim Ho-hyun of the Department of Early Childhood Education at Gwangju University.
The proper eating habit songs and dance videos range from 1 minute 43 seconds to 3 minutes 22 seconds in length, designed so that anyone can easily sing along and dance.
At the end of last year, Nam-gu registered five works including the songs and videos with the Korea Copyright Commission, and plans to approve free use of the proper eating habit songs and videos for public purposes upon request from daycare centers and childcare-related institutions and organizations in other regions.
