Gwangju Buk-gu Opens 'Chambit 4th Branch' to Address Care Blind Spots
Opening of 'Dahamkke Dolbom Center Chambit' Last January
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] On the 23rd, Gwangju Buk-gu announced that it opened the 4th Dahamkke Care Center, 'Chambit,' at Chambit Daycare Center in Unam-dong last January to address the care gap for elementary school students.
The 'Dahamkke Care Project' is being promoted by the government to establish a voluntary and community-led child care system centered on local areas.
Unlike existing facilities targeting low-income groups, it provides simple care, learning support, daily education, and educational, play, and cultural programs for all elementary school students regardless of income level.
The operation of the Chambit Care Center is entrusted to the social welfare corporation Chambit Welfare Foundation (CEO Park Daeheung).
Buk-gu expects that the Dahamkke Care Center will contribute to child care in the local community and the realization of universal child welfare through the linkage of public and private resources.
Director Moon In said, "The Dahamkke Care Center is a space where elementary school students can rest safely and reduces the parenting burden on parents amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "This year, four more care centers will be added to the Life SOC complex facilities, and we will continue to make efforts to protect children and eliminate blind spots in child care."
